Spiritual Dimensions of Healing

Krippner, Stanley, & Welch, Patrick

Although this book is broadly about spiritual and other forms of healing, it is primarily about shamanic/shamanistic healers with the emphasis on Native American and other healers in North and Central America. The contents portrays succinctly what the book deals with: Healing the Spirit; Models of Healing; Shamans; Shamanic Healers; Shamanistic Healing, Priests and Religious Healers; Mediums and Spiritists, Sorcerers and Witches; Investigating Spiritual Healing; Anomalies in Spiritual Healing Research; Integrating Spiritual Healing into Counseling and Psychotherapy; and Integrating Spiritual Healing into Nursing and Medicine. Throughout a cross-cultural approach is taken and emphasis is placed on the worldviews of the healers and their relation to allopathic medicine. Many individual healers are quoted or their work described.
