The Encyclopedia of Ghosts

Cohen, Daniel

Skeptical science writer Cohen's Encyclopedia of Ghosts is an historical casebook of haunts and apparitions, some with their origin in folklore and legend. He narrowed the selection down to English-language accounts from the last 40 years. Even within those confines, it would be impossible to be exhaustive, so he "tried to include cases that are famous, significant, representative, or unique" (p. xii).
